Melton three-year-old winner

Promising pacer AUCKLAND REACTOR gelding Stir Me Up became his sire’s tenth individual three-year-old winner this season when he emerged successful at Melton on Tuesday night (June 29).

The gelding led from end-to-end in a career-best 1:56.3 rate over 1720 metres. He clocked 57.8 for the last 800.

Bred and raced by E. A. and K. A. Polidano, Stir Me Up is out of the Elsu mare Magical Sue, whose first two foals are winners.

On the same night AUCKLAND REACTOR produced another ‘new’ winner in Sunnywithachance, who overcame an early scrimmage and a torrid passage to salute at Young.

The five-year-old rated 2:00.3 over 1720 metres.

Bred, trained and driven by Maurice Johnson, Sunnywithachance is from the unraced Ramsey’s Sunshine (by Ramsey Hanover).
