Promising AUCKLAND REACTOR three-year-old Desmond cleared novice class at the Bathurst midweek meeting on June 23.
The gelding, who had shown good placed form in the area, fired off the mobile arm to assume control at the outset before handing up 500 metres after the start.
Switched down to the fence, Desmond rallied strongly in the home straight to score under a hold by 5.5 metres.
The mile rate was 1:57.3 for 1730 metres.
He is out of the six-win Real Desire mare Shes The Real Deal (1:57.6), and is her first foal.
AUCKLAND REACTOR has sired 77 individual winners – including nine three-year-olds – in Australia this year and they have earned more than $990,000 in prizemoney.
