‘Blue’ blazes at Gloucester Park

Talented AUCKLAND REACTOR gelding Blue Blazer NZ edged closer to the six figure stake earnings mark when he scored a dashing win at Gloucester Park on Tuesday night (June 1).

Starting from the No 2 gate, the six-year-old was caught wide early before gaining the one-one trail.

Eased three-wide at the 600 metre mark, Blue Blazer quickly joined the leader and assumed control just after straightening.

He won by two metres in a slick 1:56.9 rate for 2130 metres with the last 800 in 57 seconds.

Bred by Melbourne breeder Harvey Kaplan, Blue Blazer is out of Jet Spirit, an unraced Jereme’s Jet mare who is also the dam of Melton winner Tinder Surprise (1:55.4).

AUCKLAND REACTOR has sired 69 individual winners in Australia this year and they have amassed $890,000 in prizemoney.
