Grove Dale, a five-year-old gelding by AUCKLAND REACTOR, became his sire’s 57th individual winner in Australia this year when he broke novice ranks at Bathurst on Wednesday night (April 28).
Starting from the pole, the gelding led throughout to score by a head in a 1:59.8 rate over 1730 metres.
Bred, raced, trained and driven by Peter Davis, Grove Dale is out of the unraced Riverboat King mare Where Ru and is her third foal and only winner.
Meanwhile, Whata Reactor, a five-year-old mare by AUCKLAND REACTOR, posted her seventh success on the same night at Redcliffe.
After leading and handing up, the mare finished strongly to win by 1.4 metres.
She has now earned more than $40,000 in stakes.
Bred by Bernie and Catherine Hewitt, Whata Reactor is from Narnie, an Armbro Operative mare who has left four winners from four starters.
AUCKLAND REACTOR’s progeny has earned almost $700,000 in Australia this year.
