Highly promising AUCKLAND REACTOR four-year-old Willie Go West NZ tuned up for the Group 2 $75,000 Tasmanian Easter Cup with a decisive win in the opening heat at Launceston on Sunday (March 28).
The gelding made a clean getaway and after being parked early, led for the last 2000 metres.
He was never seriously challenged, zipping home the last 800m in 56.4 to win by 7.2 metres.
Willie Go West has now won six of his 12 starts and $64,350 in stakes.
Bred by Studholme Bloodstock, the gelding is out of the unraced Bettor’s Delight mare Bettor Go.
Willie Go West was one of five winners sired by AUCKLAND REACTOR on the final weekend in March.
Crowded Reactor, a five-year-old gelding, hoisted a fresh lifetime mark of 1:55.8 over 1700 metres at the Horsham Cup meeting.
Out of an Armbro Operative mare, the gelding has now won seven races.
Baby Bee Mine, a four-year-old mare, posted her third win on end at Parkes. Bred and raced by Angela Hodges, she is from a mare by Live Or Die.
Lightly raced three-year-old filly Cattenom Lass became AUCKLAND REACTOR’S 50th individual winner in Australia this year when she scored in 1:58.1 at Central Wheatbelt (WA). She is the second foal and winner out of Daytime Diva (by Art Major).
Renway Reactor, a five-year-old gelding, led most of the way to win his fourth race at Albury. The chestnut is from the unraced Aspire To Glory, an Armbro Operative mare.
