AUCKLAND REACTOR was credited with his 25th individual winner in New Zealand this season when Zircon Lass broke maiden ranks at Manawatu on Tuesday (March 23).
Settling three deep on the marker pegs, the four-year-old only gained racing room at the 600 metre mark but, once clear, quickly pounced on her rivals.
She won unextended by 4-1/4 lengths in a 2:01.5 rate for 2000 metres.
Zircon Lass is out of the Holmes Hanover mare Elleuro.
In Australia, the five-year-old Im Spiderman led throughout over 2536 metres to win at Gloucester Park.
The mile rate was 2:00.1.
Im Spiderman has now won seven races and almost $50,000 in stakes.
The gelding is out of the $100,000 winning Tyler’s Best mare Casey’s Best NZ.
