First up Albion Park success

Square Dealer, a New Zealand bred son of AUCKLAND REACTOR, emerged successful at his Australian debut at Albion Park on Tuesday (March 9).

Starting from inside the back row, the six-year-old enjoyed the box seat trail behind the leader most of the way.

Angled to the outside by Taleah McMullen soon after straightening, Square Dealer quickly gobbled up the leaders and marched clear for a 3.3 metre win.

The mile rate for the 1660 metres was 1:53 – a new lifetime mark.

He clocked 56.4 for the last 800.

The winner of five races and almost $35,000, Square Dealer is from the Washington VC mare Shop Til You Drop, the dam also of the Gore winner Shop Girl (2:00.3).
