AUCKLAND REACTOR took the siring honours at Hobart on Sunday night (February 28) with a double in consecutive races.

Willie Go West NZ, a Listed winner at Addington as a three-year-old, made a triumphant return at four to soundly trounce his rivals in a heat of the Tasmania Cup. The gelding carved out his last 800 in 57.5.

The winner of five of his 10 starts and more than $50,000 in stakes, Willie Go West is out of the Bettor’s Delight mare Bettor Go.

Having his first start on Australian soil, Jaffa Josh NZ, who settled down next-to-last, looped the entire field in the back straight and then careered away to score by 19 metres under a hold.

He clocked 57.7 for his final 800 metres racing in the middle of the track!

The six-year-old gelding is from Silk Rose, a Dream Away mare.

In North America, The Great Buzz, a New Zealand bred gelding by AUCKLAND REACTOR, led from end to end in a sparkling 1:52 at Miami Valley Raceway, Ohio on Saturday night (February 27).

The six-year-old is out of the Bettor’s Delight mare Risonanza.
