AUCKLAND REACTOR had a red-letter night in Western Australia on Friday (February 26) with a winning double at Albany and a winner at Gloucester Park in Delightfulreaction.
Delightfulreaction, who started off a 10 metre handicap, settled down three deep on the marker pegs. Gaining racing room in the back straight, the five-year-old mare gradually overhauled the leaders to score by 1.3 metres.
The mile rate for the 2503 metre stand was 1:59.6 with the closing 800 in a slick 57.1.
It was her 13th success and sent her stake tally over the $190,000 mark.
Bred by Mike Howie, Delightfulreaction is out of a Bettor’s Delight mare, Apache Delight.
Bountiful Reactor and Matai Reactor won consecutive races at Albany.
The former came off a 50 metre handicap to notch his third win from his last four starts, while the latter brought up his maiden success.
Bountiful Reactor, the winner of 10 races, is from a Mystical Prince mare, and Matai Reactor is out of a mare by Elsu.
AUCKLAND REACTOR was represented by a second ‘new’ winner in the three-year-old filly Iden Reactor, who won earlier in the night at Devonport, Tasmania.
The filly led from the outset and, despite being seriously tested on several occasions, careered away to win by 9.9 metres.
Bred and part-owned by Elliott Booth, Iden Reactor is the first foal of Iden Princess (by Life Sign).
