Talented AUCKLAND REACTOR gelding Antero sent his stake earnings over the $100,000 mark when he emerged successful at Gloucester Park on Friday night (February 19).
Sent straight to the top, the six-year-old survived some early pressure before dropping anchor in the middle stages.
Zipping home in 28.8 and 28.4, Antero held his rivals at bay to score by 1.4 metres.
The mile rate for 2130 metres was a slick 1:55.4.
Antero has won three of his five starts this year.
Bred by the late Harry Capararo, the gelding is out of the Real Desire mare Adda My Way (2:00.6), and is her first foal.
Earlier in the day, the AUCKLAND REACTOR three-year-old Tino Tere Maori cleared maiden ranks at Cobram.
The gelding led from end to end, rating 1:57.1 over 1670 metres highlighted by a 57.4 closing 800.
Bred by Sue Wegmann, Tino Tere Maori is from the unraced Elegant Art (by Art Major), the dam of an earlier winner in Burning Hot (1:55.6)
Bountiful Reactor became AUCKLAND REACTOR’s third winner for the day when he overcame a 30 metre handicap to prevail at Albany.
The six-year-old won by an ever increasing 17.2 metres.
Out of a mare by Mystical Prince, Bountiful Reactor has now won nine races and almost $50,000 in stakes.
AUCKLAND REACTOR has sired 23 individual winners to date in Australia this year.
