Talented AUCKLAND REACTOR gelding Last Of The Mohicans extended his unbeaten winning sequence to three when he emerged successful at the Premier Meeting at Addington, New Zealand on Friday night (February 12).
After settling down third, the four-year-old was sooled to the front by Ricky May 400 metres from the despatch point.
He was never in danger of defeat, scoring by 1-3/4 lengths.
The mile rate for the 2600 metres standing start was 2:00.6 with the last 800 in 57.7 and 400 in 28.4.
Last Of The Mohicans is out of the Frugal Gourmet mare Jaclyn Del (2:00.9), and is her eighth foal.
Meanwhile, the AUCKLAND REACTOR mare Miss Auckland rallied strongly off a perfect trip to win her third race at the Riverton Cup meeting at Invercargill on Saturday (February 13).
The mile rate for the 2200 metres was a career-best 1:58.1 highlighted by a 57.9 closing 800.
Miss Auckland is from Arancia 1:59.4 (by Washington VC) and is her first foal.
