Auckland Reactor quinella at Menangle

AUCKLAND REACTOR sired the quinella pair, Accelere NZ and Jazzy Star NZ, in Race 7 at Menangle on Tuesday night (January 26).

Starting from the No 8 gate, Accelere began like a rocket to work to the front in the early stages before handing up to Jazzy Star at the end of the opening 26.5 quarter.

Following middle splits of 29.3 and 28, Accelere was angled to the outside soon after straightening for the judge and gradually gained the upper hand over a gallant Jazzy Star, zipping home in 27.6.

The time for the flying mile was 1:51.4 – a new lifetime mark.

Accelere has now won three of his five starts on Australian soil. He has won five races and $55,133 in stakes.

Bred by Kahukuri Bloodstock, the five-year-old gelding is out of Exposay (by Dream Away), the dam also of El Jacko 1:55.2 ($432,319) and VC Manoeuvre 1:54.1 ($135,404).
