Tiger Moth, a gelding by AUCKLAND REACTOR, proved a class above his rivals at Winton, New Zealand on Wednesday (January 20).
Settling down next to last, the six-year-old began a searching three-wide run at the 1200 metre mark to join the leaders on the home turn.
Given more rein, Tiger Moth marched clear of his opposition to win by seven lengths.
It was his third success.
Bred by Tom Bagrie, Tiger Moth is out of the Christian Cullen mare Gipsy Moth, the dam also of Menangle winner Plata O Plomo (1:53.4).
Meanwhile, the AUCKLAND REACTOR gelding Ian Raymond chalked up his sixth success at Mildura the same night.
The six-year-old led throughout in a 1:59.4 rate for 2190 metres.
Bred by Ian Chisholm, Ian Raymond is from the Village Jasper mare Black Dress and is her only foal.
