Auckland Reactor

Jaffie J is ok

The AUCKLAND REACTOR mare Jaffie J cleared novice class with a dashing front end display at Invercargill on Wednesday (January 13).

After working to the lead at the 1300 metre mark, the five-year-old maintained a solid tempo and going down the back straight put five lengths between herself and her rivals.

She held on gamely in running out the 2200 metres in 2:45.6, a mile rating of 2:01.1.

Jaffie J is out of Reason Ta Grin, a Grinfromeartoear mare from the Black Watch tribe who left an earlier winner in Razcal Alley (1:59.2).

On the same day Aha Reaction NZ, a six-year-old gelding, led from end to end to win at Geelong.

The mile rate was 1:59.7 for 2100 metres highlighted by a flying 56.8 last 800.

It was the gelding’s third success in Victoria and sixth lifetime.

The winner of almost $50,000, Aha Reaction is from the Bettor’s Delight mare Dreamy Delight, the dam of two winners from two starters.
