The five-year-old Edge Sheeran became his sire AUCKLAND REACTOR’s latest winner when he prevailed at the Summer meeting at Ashburton on Tuesday (January 12).
After settling down in the one-one trail, the gelding was angled three deep at the 700 metres and gradually overhauled the leaders to win in a three-way photo.
The mile rate for 2400 metres was 1:58.7 – the last 800 in 58.2.
Bred, raced and trained by Alan Edge, Edge Sheeran is from the winning Gotta Go Cullect mare Siberian Rose and is her only foal.
AUCKLAND REACTOR has already sired 20 individual winners in NZ so far this season.
