Auckland Miss, a six-year-old mare by AUCKLAND REACTOR, and one of his first crop, posted her fifth lifetime success and her third from her last four starts at Mount Gambier on Tuesday night (January 5).
After settling down in third position on the rubber markers, the mare was angled into the open at the bell.
Despite sitting parked for the last lap, Auckland Miss fought bravely in the closing stages to win in a photo.
She clocked 56.8 seconds for the last 800 metres – a scintillating time on the saucer-shaped track.
Bred, owned, trained and driven by Graeme Howard, Auckland Miss is out of Tori Miss (by Armbro Operative), who produced a winning double on the night.
