Thunderfromthethrone wins in 1:52

Smart AUCKLAND REACTOR gelding Thunderfromthethrone NZ hoisted a fresh lifetime mark of 1:52 when he won his first race in North America at The Meadowlands, New Jersey on Saturday (January 2).

The seven-year-old won four races in New Zealand prior to being exported last July.

He is out of the Christian Cullen mare Sevenspanishangels, whose first two foals are winners.

AUCKLAND REACTOR was credited with a ‘new’ winner in Radioactive Jaffa, who came from third last to score at his third start at the New Year meeting at Rangiora.

Relishing the fast tempo, the five-year-old gelding was angled three-wide at the 600 metre mark and unleashed a stomping finishing flourish to win by 2-3/4 lengths

He covered the last 800 in 58.1 and 400 in 28.7.

Radioactive Jaffa is from the Live Or Die mare Lavra Ruby.

Twenty four hours earlier the promising AUCKLAND REACTOR gelding Brookies Jaffa notched his third success at the grass track at Wairarapa.

The five-year-old rated 2:00.7 over 2000 metres with the last 800 in 57.5.

Brookies Jaffa is out of the American mare Brookmaker (by Artiscape), the dam of seven winners including four in 2:00.
