AUCKLAND REACTOR produced winners on both sides of the Tasman on Sunday (October 25).
Harrison, a lightly raced five-year-old, opened the batting with a gutsy display in maiden class at Forbury Park, Dunedin.
Settling down near last, the gelding looped the field in the middle stages to race upsides with the leader. Despite his somewhat torrid passage, Harrison dug deep to score by half a length.
The mile rate for 2200 metres was 1:58.1 with the last 800 in 58 and 400 in 28.8.
Harrison is out of the Badlands Hanover mare Midland Maddy and is her fourth foal and second winner.
Tough three-year-old filly Nine Diamonds endured a similar overland trip to win her fifth race at Hobart.
It was her fourth win in nine starts in Tasmania.
Nine Diamonds is the second foal and winner from the Art Major mare Major Love.
