Promising AUCKLAND REACTOR two-year-old filly Highinauckland completed back-to-back successes when she defeated older, more seasoned rivals at Penrith on Thursday night (October 15).
Starting from the back row, the filly settled down in sixth position before gaining a three-wide trail in the back straight.
Switched four deep at the quarter pole, Highinauckland quickly moved alongside the leader and asserted her superiority in the last few strides.
The mile rate for 1720 metres was a career-best 1:57.8.
She clocked the last 400 in 57.8.
Highinauckland is the first foal of the New Zealand bred Mile High Anvil, a McArdle mare who won 10 races and took a record of 1:58. She is a member of the same family as the dual Inter Dominion Final placegetter Flaming Flutter, Elle Mac, St Barts, Mark Dennis, Duplicated, Waitfornoone and so on.
