Our Megastar, a New Zealand-bred son of AUCKLAND REACTOR, gave a sample of his class with a dashing end-to-end win at Menangle on Tuesday (October 6).
Driven by his trainer John McCarthy, the four-year-old gelding carved out sectionals of 26.7, 30.1, 28.2 and 27.9 on his way to a 4.3 metre win.
The time for the mile was 1:53.
Our Megastar has now won four races – two each at Menangle and Alexandra Park – for $39,900 in stakes.
The gelding is out of race-winning Fake Left mare Elena Star (1:59.2), the dam of earlier winners in Dikerry 1:52.8 ($125,266) and the Group winner Elena S 1:55 ($97,549).
AUCKLAND REACTOR was also represented by the three-year-old Blue Stone, who sat parked before scoring his maiden success at Pinjarra on Monday (October 5).
The gelding rated 1:59.7 over 2185 metres highlighted by a flying 57.3 last 800.
He is the first foal of a lightly raced Major In Art mare, Premium Copper, who is out of No Copper Left (by Fake Left).
